Hi there, I’m Dr. Kathy Gibbs — a licensed psychologist practicing right here in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and, just as importantly, a mother of two. My kids, Cole and Julia, are grown now, but I still remember those first few months of parenting like they were yesterday: inexpressibly joyful, constantly exhausting and often nerve-wracking. I often worried about doing something to mess up as a parent. But eventually I figured it out.

     Years later, with that experience — and decades of clinical training — behind me, I decided to pass on some of what I’d learned to the next generation of new parents. That’s how this children’s book series, paired with a companion website, came to be — designed to help new parents and caregivers bond with their young children and support babies in building the secure attachments they need to thrive.
